Where to stay in Kauai?

Would you prefer the north or east coast in July, and why?

we went to Kaui in July and stayed in Lihue and loved it. It was really a good location for us. incidently, we stayed at the Radisson Kaui. Very nice.

Both are beautiful. I would probably stay in the North because it is so beautiful. We go in January so the North is often too rough for us (our main goal in Kauai is to sit on the beach and snorkel/swim). That being said we always take some trips up to the North to go to Hanalei Bay. The beachs up in the north are beautiful...many you can see gorgeous mountains in the background.

I would definitely stay on the North coast in July, so beautiful. Lodging more expensive than the East coast, but worth it!

July. The weather is great. Hot during the day with an occasional shower during the day and at night. The beaches are gorgeous and swimmable that time of year. There are more people that time of year, but in Kauai it really doesn't matter.
