The very popular Becco on 46th comes to mind. One of my favorites is the very inexpensive and delicious Indian buffet lunch in the rather elegant Utsav on 47th between 6th and 7th. For fun, go to Virgil's BarBQ on 46th (or is it 45th) just off 7th.

Patrick, Virgil's is on 44th (between 6th & 7th Avenues). I'll agree with that recommendation, as well as Becco.

Hi Marhsa...my suggestions are Patsy's on West 56th Street for good Italian food in a cozy setting, Barbetta on West 46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues serves very good Italian food in a nice atmosphere...they used to have a fashion show at lunchtime on Wednesdays, but I don't know if they still do, and CHez Napoleon on West 50th Street serves Italian food (very fresh) and everyone is very friendly.

I ate at Carmine's and really enjoyed it. It is on 44th between 7th and 8th. The restaurant serves great Italian. This is not a white tablecloth place, but still serves consistently good food. It can be very busy so you might stop by early to put your name down.

Just returned from NYC and was taken to a restaurant on 46th. street which is restaurant row, between 8th. and 9th Ave. Our New York friends knew that Maison Seville had a set $12.95 lunch menu that included soup, main dish, dessert, and beverage. You had a choice of Italian or Spanish and we enjoyed it so much that we went back for dinner which was also a bargain.

It's not in the price nor decor league of the other suggestions (except maybe Olive Garden), but I always enjoy Ollie's Noodle House, a large, frantic but quite decent Chinese restaurant at (not positive here) 44th or 45th on the west side of Times Square. You'll be in and out in 30 minutes and it'll be less than $10 per person.

There's a wonderful French restaurant - Rene Pujol - on W 51st near 8th. Great food and service and within easy walking distance of most theaters.
