Where to go for 4th anniv

April 14th is our anniv. We would like to go somewhere in that time frame for 1 week.

After alot of research, Hawaii is too $$, and we will have been to Mexico 2 times in a year. (we were in PV in April and are going again in Dec.)

We have a $556 credit voucher with Alaska Airlines.
$100 above this is our limit. Not over $700 total including voucher.
One criteria is that we fly nonstop from SEA to destination.

We have access to a week at a RCI facility costing us only $200.

We would like to rent a car that isnt over $250 a week with unlimited miles.

With limited destinations due to flying only nonstop....
San Diego has rang a bell.
I was there several years ago for 5 days with my sister.
DH has only driven through.
There are several points of interests that I would like to show my husband.
*Balboa Park
*Old Town (Sat. Market0
*Little Italy
*Coronado
*Gaslamp
*Sunset Cliffs
*La Jolla
*Torrey Pines

We love to shop, people watch and see local arts and crafts.
Please tell me if you can think of anywhere else that fits the bill.
Am I missing somewhere fabulous?

I love San Diego/La Jolla and there's plenty to do there, but it's not a beach vacation in April if that's what you want.

I don't know if RCI has any properties there or where else they do. It looks like there are nonstop flights to Miami if you want another option and there's also Las Vegas (not my cup of tea but maybe yours with Grand Canyon).

Do you know whether your voucher is good on an Alaska Air partner airline?? (Delta and American)

There are about 3 in San Diego and some nearby. I stayed at the Gaslap Plaza Suites in 2002 and liked the location. The facility itself was okay too. Nothing spectacular, but perfectly suitable for me.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't like Miami. It's got beach, shopping, people watching galore and plenty of arts. I'm not saying San Diego doesn't have those things, but Miami will be warmer. I can't imagine all RCI properties cost the same for a week so if you're intending on using that for accommodation, maybe you need to start there.
