Where to get a wedding cake in Hawaii?

Okay, the major details are nailed down but now we need to find a place to make the wedding cake. We'll be on Oahu, and the wedding is at the Royal Hawaiian -- a place we don't necessarily want to use for the wedding cake. Anybody know any good bakeries there?

Have you checked www.theknot.com? It's like Fodors Forums for weddings. Good luck!

St. Germaine is an excellent bakery fairly nearby your hotel location. I'm not sure if they do cakes though. It's a favorite of a number of posters here, so maybe someone local will chime in with the answer.

If you want an awesome tasting, beautiful cake, check out cakelava (www.cakelava.com). They have lots of pictures on their website so you can get an idea of their designs, but they're also very into creating something custom-made especially for you based on your preferences. And they'll deliver! Congratulations and good luck!

Why don't you want to use the Royal Hawaiian for your cake? It's often included in the package....

I absolutely love Cafe Laufer. When I get married I'm going to hire Cyrus to do MY cake! http://www.driveguidemagazines.com/o...l#Anchor-56912

Mary Catherine's is also a fabulous place, they did my friend's wedding cake and every tier was a different flavor.

A quick thank you for the recommendations.
We chose Mary Catherine's and they did a fantastic job. They were super-nice too.
Would have never heard of them but for you and this forum, so thanks again.

When is the wedding? Are you going to hire Kal to jump out of it?
