Where is a good place to go over the Easter Holiday?

The weekend of Easter my hubby and I will have 4 days off. We would like to take a vacation from our hometown Miami, FL. We were looking for someplace fun yet relaxing. Also, its going to be Easter and most of the places are closed so we kinda want to go somewhere where we wont waste a day. (Example Las Vegas casinos are always open but we have already been there). We also have a 5 month old daughter so we have to keep that in mind! We'd like to budget ourselves so any suggestions would greatly be appreciated!

Have you been to Santa Fe? And Taos? Fly into Albuquerque then rent a car. This is a great place to be at Easter time because there are many religous celebrations. Take the high road to Taos -- you're likely to see a real-life Jesus with his cross making the walk to the church in Chimayo. A great place at Easter.

Tandoori_Girl, Some people want to get away for Easter to avoid things like a "real-life Jesus with his cross" who play up to the tourists and locals for evangelicalism brownie points and profit. Easter is a personal state of mind.

Hehe--I really dont want to see anything "religious". Im more kinda like walking around, seeing sites type of person. Examples of places I love: Vegas, NY, LA, London, Paris! Those cities have the kind of atmosphere I like. Something for everyone! But, I dont want to waste my time if Sunday I will be stuck doing nothing!

You're an idiot.

Tandoori_Girl, Why so insulting? God loves you. You don't have a clue about what sommer is asking.

sommer, I would recommed San Antonio. Its warm over Easter but not hot. Its still too cold up here in the north. The downtown's famous River Walk area is fantastic. You can stay at a river walk hotel and walk or take a river boat ride to all of the sites including The Alamo. Its like going to Spain, but its still authentic and real.

Do the hotels in Santa Fe and Taos profit from the pilgrims? Naaaaa. They camp in the desert and bring there own salt brine pork!

Vegas would be a good choice.

New Orleans would be nice. We have the Easter parade with horse & buggy in the French Quarter. It is not a bad flight from Miami & you will be used to the weather already. A riverboat cruise would be a cooling way to relax & of course there is the Aquarium.
Slap a set of bunny ears on the baby & have fun!

sommer-

Since I live in Philadelphia, that's where I would recommend. The city is very walkable & stroller-friendly, so you don't even have to rent a car. Weather will be nice by then as well.

Philly is a great city, as is NYC. If you go to NYC there's a nice Easter parade.
