That seems like a good deal for the Ritz-Carlton, but the costs for food will be very expensive. January is also not a great time for the Kapalua area- high winds/rain/very rough surf.

Who eats at the Ritz?
Napili area is an excellent place to eat for cheap and of course there is Sansei for sushi..Roy's..Gazebo..Outback which has a happy hour in the bar..(had King Crab Legs/Ahi and salad with a bottle of wine for 2 for less than $50) and Plantation House for the best breakfast deal in town..wife loves the ahi benedict.
We have been in January and we didn't have the rain or the wind but the surf was up.
Love staying in a 5* hotel and eat cheap elsewhere..this deal included a convertible too.

I find it a major PITA to have to get in the car and drive every time I want something to eat, while on vacation.

I've been to Maui about 15 times and everytime we stay at a hotel/condo or home in Kapalua we always load up on wine, snacks, fruit and other goodies..we use the hotel for some things but its not an everyday, every meal thing..
Most hotel food blows..
