2005 - Went round the world and then some… Currently in London en route to Israel than back to Istanbul to complete the RTW flight requirements, then off to LA for new years with family. Here's a map of our 2005 travels (some duplicate segments) - http://tinyurl.com/aw4ql

The best bits? All of them, but if we had to pick I'm sure we'd both choose Africa. Whay a revelation.

2006 - Lots of domestic travel related to our son's wedding in July, then a return to Africa, probably by way of another RTW. Balance of the itinerary to be planned.

Wishing everyone safe and happy voyages in 2006.

This year was an embarrassment of travel riches for us. In 2005:

St. John, US Virgin Islands
Cancun
Kauai/Maui
San Francisco/Big Sur/Yosemite
Montanta - Glacier NP
Italy - Rome, Venice, Florence
NYC several times

In 2006 we have planned:

Sarasota/Orlando, FL
Cancun
Colorado
Cape Cod
NYC

Wonderful thread! Nice to see where everyone has been and where everyone is planning to go! Not as exciting as some, but here goes:

2005:
1. 4 day cruise LA - Ensenada
2. Phoenix (Spring Training)
3. Spain (17 days, and best by far)

2006:
1. Phoenix (Spring Training)
2. 4 day cruise LA - Ensenada (birthday celebration)
3. Either: New Mexico for Balloon Festival or Wisconsin for Aunt and Uncle's 50th wedding anniversary (both happen at the same time, but I'm really pushing for NM!)

After all the saving and planning that went into going to Spain this past year, I want to take more trips of shorter duration this year. Besides, looking at this, I think I'm getting into a rut....

Yes, Faina, sign me up! ;-)

2005
Hawaii in January
Naples, FL in April
Houston in May
Alaska in June
Aspen, CO in August
Maryland, my Maryland, in Nov & Dec.

We had a two week trip planned to Italy in October that we felt we had to postpone because of our cat's failing health. She's in renal failure and the vet felt us leaving her for so long would be added stress. Now I don't want to leave her at all so 2006 travel plans are up in the air. We hope to ski either CO or UT in February; there's a trip to New Mexico in the fall I'd love to make; and, depending on the cat, we may get to Italy later in the year.

By far, my favorite trip in 2005 was to Alaska--I fell in love with the place and hope to return sooner rather than later.

Happy travels everyone!

otto--That's right, your Ireland trip! I have been to Scotland before and loved it. Will be going with a girlfriend this time as DH has to work and kids have school. The castles are amazing! We stayed at one and loved exploring the area.

Wow, I'm envious of all of these travels. And here I thought I was something because I get to go to ONE place each year!

Anyway, in 2005 I went to Ireland.

In 2006 I will go to the Czech Republic and probably to Chicago.
