Buy your pretty dress so you will have that for the future and then throw some ankle-length leggings under it and wear them with ballet flats for an edgier look. If it is cool in NYC next week, I bet you'll see some of that look.

I was doing some shopping of my own today, and I realized that Anthropologie would probably be a great choice for you. They have a ton of beautiful dresses under $400 that are beatiful, yet quirky and interesting.

There are multiple locations around Manhattan.

If you are looking for original, edgier, versatile design, go to Calvin Tran at 246 Mulberry Street.

If you're looking for new or emerging designers, try EMC2 (if you watch Project Runway, that's Emmett's store) 240 Elizabeth between Houston and Prince. Across the street is Bio, another store for emerging designers.

Thanks for your help. I think that it will be a big deal for the people who are in the movie here in Harrisburg and that they will be getting more dressed up than if it would be an Indie movie in New York or LA. We are having a gala party afterwards where everyone will dance and hang out. I'm sure that people who are coming in off the street just to see the movie will be dressed more casual, but the people who are involved in the movie will be a little more dressed up. I'll let you know if I find anything. I'm leaving tomorrow.
