The poison is a bottle of 2001 Red Mountain Cana's Feast from Cuneo Cellar's in Carlton, Oregon. But, if I close my eyes, I can almost imagine I'm in Italy.

Las Vegas, Oregon Coast, Black Butte Ranch, and Santa Fe are somewhere on the seven-month horizon, but tonight I can't see that far.

Hello Statia, you sound like you need about 24 hours of sleep.

Everyone missed you! It was nice to see your post. I sure hope that your throat and voice gets better within the next couple of days. How overjoyed your mother must have been to see you.
But how tired you must be.

Take good care of yourself. And honestly, doesn't wine cure a lot of problems? Best regards.

Dh and I finished a bottle of Cavit Pinot Noir earlier; I'm drinking some water now.

Our next trip is scheduled for May. My dad will turn 80, and we're driving to central CA to visit him. We'll most likely fit in a day in Yosemite while we're there.

My friends & I just polished off a couple of bottles of cabernet at Gordon Biersch, where the manager is a super handsome man. Talk about a perfect Friday!

My next trip commences on April 1, where I go to Scottsdale and end up in Vegas. woohoo!

Howdy back attcha Statia! Glad you are back home from your Mom's move...I see you brushed up on your "Texan talk" while there. Welcome back to warmth and sunshine. My DH is griping about all the rain in San Antonio too. I sure hope this is weird weather they are having because 8 years in the sunshine state has spoiled us and I'm going to whine if that persists.

Last night was a Pinot Blanc night with friends, and more good-byes. Tonight another friend has asked me to go eat at a little inn in Gulfport which he, my husband and I had been wanting to try together and never got around to. Our boat is in Gulfport too and I'm doing the last of the re-varnishing this weekend so it's perfect. I'll spend the night on the boat tonight so I don't have to drive home after whatever our libation is at the Peninsula Inn.

We are in our count down now for lift off to Texas. Closing next week, DH back here Friday then packers and movers Mon, Tues, Wed and away we go. Waaaa That will necessitate at least one bottle, maybe more, of Pinot SomethingOrOther! I'd much rather be going to France with Indy or Scarlett. Actually, I'd much rather be doing most anything except moving.

Message: Hello Indytravel. My poison last nite was a Heineken. I'm also in Indy and have to say that this time of year with all " the GLOOM" I could usually use anything hard! Actually it's usually Red wine.

Indy since your in the midwest, I would like to pose a question to you. we are trying to plan our summer vacation. Last year we, my husband & 9-12yr old, went camping in Colorado. We had a blast. We hiked and did some whitewater rafting.
I realize that there are many fabulous parks out west but I was trying to do something on a small budget. We do have access to a house in Mesquite but I don't know if that's where you want to go in the summer time and we would probably have to fly because of saving time. Any ideas?

Also, those of you who are drinking water and Crystal Light as your poison, all I have to say is "YOU GO GIRL or BOY!!!!!!!"

We open a $7.65 bottle of '99 Miliasso Barbaresco from Costco last PM - a nice surprise.
Did anyone get the $242.+ Taxes ORD-FCO RT fare(s) from Alitalia yesterday? I can't get anything close today.

Drinking cheap red wine and trying to bump that post down! Unfortunately, no major trips 'til we've got our kids through college. But, since we live in Illinois and our daughter goes to school in Massachusetts, at least we get to travel when we take her in the fall and get her in the spring! We'll soon be doing college visits with our son. And, in the meantime, we're making up for our lack of travel with our Sunday afternoon mini-excursions into the Chicago neighborhoods. Also hope to do some weekend trips during the summer.

Just sipping on a cup of decaf tea tonight. CAPH52, my son will be finishing up his stint in Boston. We have so many wonderful memories from our visits - especially try to shove all of his stuff in the car! After freshmen year his stuff seemed to multiply - lol!

seetheworld, please don't tell me that! This is her first year and she already has way too much stuff! We had to rent a van to take her out. I was hoping she'd be able to store enough there that we'd be able to get her home in the car. But she and her dad think we'll have to rent a van again. As if we weren't spending enough on tuition, etc!

CAPH52, after freshmen year, we stored his fridge with a storage company (not the most economical move but really didn't have a choice as my husband turned in our station wagon for a Passat!). Now that he's graduating, it's time for that thing to come home! Luckily my DH has a business trip in Boston a week before graduation so he'll bring it along with his other home at that time. Yea, college is costly, huh!

Current 7:30am so my posion is coffee, but usually I like a nice glass of red wine, especially on a cold night. I'm going to Toronto next week for a conference, and plan to get some site seeing in as well. I hope to visit San Fransisco in the summer, and I want to get back to New York City again this year too, I visited last autumn and am enthralled (if only the rents there were cheaper).

My next trip (hopefully very soon) is to the hospital to witness my second child coming into the world. Following that, the young one will be introduced to the beach for the first time in June. Wine for me, most of the time, thanks.
