Traveling this weekend? DS is in a drum corp (think marching band on steroids)traveling the country and they come to my town tomorrow.

I will be traveling with them for 8 days working the kitchen truck. There are 135 "kids" 15-22 yrs of age that go through 30 gallons of milk and 30 loaves of bread every day or every other day.

They practice 12 hr/day on rehearsal days and 8 hr/day on show days. They travel by busand the parent volunteers are on a converted airport shuttle bus, sleeping while we move on to the next state each night. He has two free days in 2 1/2 months.

I'm taking the Prozac and the Lorazipam and the running shoes. Hopefully I won't run out of anything and embarass him while I PMS. Did I mention the cooler of tiny wine bottles I'm taking? A cheap Chardonnay....

nevermind, I'm so glad to hear that you are getting along well and your DH is taking care of you. Wow! 38 years! Congrats! DH and I are on 13 married, 15 together....time flies when you're having fun, eh?

It's so nice to see everyone having fun "talking travel" even if it's just letting the little four leggers out for a "trip." Speaking of which, I have a Chihuahua and a JRT that I have to take out before their eyes start turning yellow.

Nighty night Fodorites. Wow...I'm a poet and didn't even know it.

Why so coy tonight? What have you been doing lately for fun? Movies, random acts of beach combing? You lead a mysterious life my friend...

The questions were what?

I am on my second glass of wine so getting foggy perhaps, LOL.

Pampering, hmm, a week on a lovely beach with tons of good books to read would be ideal for me right now, but only if I had a big beach umbrella over me.

Where am I going this weekend I think was another question. UH, to the closet to get the vacumncleaner, to the laundry room to do some laundry as due to the last week or so I am sooo behind in everything. How is that for sounding like the most boring Fodorite of all, lol.

Wishing you and your husband a beautiful anniversary dear Statia!! And I do hope your husbands "girlfriend' DOESN'T interrupt your anniversary weekend, lol. I do remember your post!

And nevermind, a wedding anniversary wish to you two also!! 38 years is awesome, I wish you many many more.

And Faina, welcome back dear friend. LOL, you of all people being banned, who would of thunk?

Where I have no interest in travelling to, well I have never been interested in going to any of the countries in Asia although so many love to travel there including family members. Maybe I would if I had unlimited money for travel but I don't, sigh!

Saluti per tutti!

WELCOME BACK, FAINAAGAIN!

Jetset, do you still have company? How are you doing?

Q1. I think women need to create situations and places in their homes that make them feel pampered. I have quite a few, but here's 2 off the top of my head: when my sheets are freshly changed, bedroom is very clean, and I'm tucked in with a good book; when I am soaking in the tub with candles lit and nice music playing.

Q2: Sunday is my b'day, so DH is taking me somewhere overnight tomorrow, but it's a surprise. So excited! Then he's taking me to one of our favorite restaurants Sunday night for a special birthday dinner.

Q3: That's a tough one, but definitely nowhere with ongoing war, oppression of women and children, and crimes against mankind being carried out.

Poison tonight: OJ Hope everyone is having a great evening!

STW--Have a great trip! We went there a few years ago and it is really an interesting place. I can't wait to hear about your trip!

I am not traveling this weekend. We returned today...but DS travels tomorrow (flying to CA) and DH in a day or so (for work). BUT, in a week we all head to Sunriver for a week!

My poison is pretentious Fodorites with nothing else to to but drop names and yakyakyak about nothing.
The original question--What's yer poison? My answer--Old Speckled Hen. English. And very good.

jet, today i traveled to the big city of hilo, hawaii to see a travel movie "Pirates of the Caribbean", stopped off at Safeway to buy some international food (Pita Chips, Garlic Salsa from NYC, and a nice package of Potato Hot Dog Buns which since they have potato in them, they must be from Ireland, a place emd does not want to travel to. I traveled home listening to my Sounds of Luangwa cd, picked up on my travels to Zambia. When I got in my travel vehicle, I had forgotten I had the cd in and started up the travel vehicle when all of a sudden I heard a Zambian hippo, scared the sh** out of me, I floored the travel vehicle and ran up on the curb, thank god the travel gods were smiling upon me as noone was in front of me. I could hear the policeman writing in his report..What caused this accident? Well, I thought a hippo was after me. HMMM breathe into this...NO WAY! They got me once on that breathe into this thing and I'll never fall for that again! So after the travel home, I poured a nice domestic whiskey, from Kentucky, some people travel there, and here I am. The frogs traveled all the way here from Puerto Rico, a vacation destination off the coast of Florida (see Disney World) in a container of palms for Wal-Mart, an international company, though why Wal-Mart didn't buy locally, you'd have to ask one of the remaining, living Waltons who like to travel. now I'm having chicken parmesan, an Italian favorite. So you can see, I've travelled the world all in one day, though I did miss Homer Alaska. Maybe tomorrow's travels

Where'a a heimlick when you need one?

Welcome back and party on Miss J.
