What's the nicest hotel in Indianapolis?

I am traveling to Indianapolis in September for several days and want to stay somewhere nice. Not too concerned with price - more concerned with quality of accomodations and treatment by staff. Would also prefer a hotel where I can get a quiet room - I want to feel that if I make a special request about room location, my request would be honored. Any ideas?

The Malibu Suites or The Conrad are both very nice accommodations in downtown Indi. Check out their websites. Also, the Malibu received great reviews on Trip Advisor. If you enjoy a good steak make sure you visit St. Elmo's.

I used to live in Indy. The Canterbury is the nicest I know of downtown. And I also recommend St. Elmo's. Get the shrimp cocktail, if you like that kind of thing. They have the best I've ever had.

It's been a while but I think it's called the Eagles Nest at the top of the Hyatt is also good for a view of the city. Decent, not fantastic food, but that's not why you go.

The Conrad is not slated to open until 2006. WOnderful faked photo on their web site though. I walked past yesterday and the top 15 floors are still open girders as they continue to build it.

Malibu Suites has only 4 rooms + a penthouse. Your room change request would be hard to grant there.

I have stayed at the Canterbury Hotel and it is very nice - definitely an older hotel but well maintained (I believe it is an official historic building). Our room was adequately sized and very nicely furnished.
