What's the best SUMMER FAMILY RESORT for a small group?

Vacationing for a week with extended family next JUNE. 10 adults and 4 kids age 5, 8, 11, 14. Prefer to stay in the US/Caribbean.

Things we'd like in a resort:
-- Scenic resort with a big variety of activities for all ages... water activities by lake or ocean, fishing, biking, walking/hiking, mini golf, spa, etc
-- Fun pool for the kids
-- Prefer rooms with a shared living space so we can be together
-- All-inclusive is nice, but not required

Some initial suggestions from others:
The Balsams in New Hampshire
Wisconsin Dells
I'm looking for more suggestions.

I think that you may find NH too cold in June for the lake. Otherwise, I've heard great things about the Balsams.
For many years, my family did extended reunions at Club Meds - 20 to 25 of us, from toddlers to seniors. We had great vacations with something for everyone, but it has been a few years since we've done this so I can't speak to the current quality of the 'family villages'.

I don't know much about Club Med, but just looked at their website. I should have specified in my original post that we want to do all activities together as a family. Looks like Club Med focuses more on kid camps where the kids and adults go their separate ways. I'm sure the kids enjoy them, but we prefer to stick together on vacations.

Club Med Ixtapa. I've given multiple comments on the Latin American board about how much we liked it. The reviews are tripadvisor probably tell the best story.

We've been twice this year and LOVED it.

My question on the Club Med resorts: What activities can the adults participate in with their kids? We won't drop our kids off at the Kid Club and it appears that's where most of the fun kid activities occur.

No point in going to Club Med if you won't have the kids at the kids club. There is plenty to do for kids and adults, but I think your kids would miss out on some of the best parts of Club Med, the kid's club activities.

Sunriver in Bend, Oregon would fit the bill.

The Hyatt Hill Country in San Antonio Texas would be good too.

I also really like Hyatt Tamaya in between Albaquerque and Santa Fe.

I think The Homestead Resort in Glen Arbor, Michigan (near Traverse City) might fit the bill. This area on Lake Michigan is absolutely lovely in the summer. Lots to do. Near the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Check out thehomesteadresort.com
