What's everyone doing on this beautiful weekend coming up?
My family and I are going apple picking in Warwick, NY, bringing a picnic and then driving up to Sleepy Hollow along the Hudson to see the fall colors and just relax a little. I need this day! It's supposed to be 70 degrees and partly cloudy--perfect! What are you guys doing?

It's a beautiful fall day here in New England and promises to be so all weekend. Plans are to attend a play in a barn tonight (community theater), work in the yard, participate in the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at our local hospital, out to dinner, pick apples and pears, make applesauce, go to church, possibly attend a Patriots game.

Looks like it will be a beautiful weekend here in Northern California. We HAVE TO clean out the garage this weekend, who knows what we'll find in there. And if we are up to sitting in a bit of traffic we'll head over to Half Moon Bay for the Pumpkin Festival. And I've promised the kids we'll get the Halloween decorations out (somewhere in that garage) and work on costumes. Oh, and I have 100 bulbs to plant. I love this time of year!

I'm off to fly to Vegas (from Chicago) then picking up a car and going to G. Canyon and then Sedona and then Laughlin to see relatives. I'm realistic and have seen bad times before this. I lost my first love and also best friend from college in Vietnam. Took my life in my hands every day walking through SDS mob as I tried to get an education. Quite frankly, it was more dangerous every day of my young life on the bus than it is for the great majority of you now. And I have the razor scars to prove it. Don't believe any of this media hype and turn off the tv/ radio. Read a paper and do your job, then go try to make someone else happy. The more you whine and talk about the negative, the more the perps love it.
I intend to have a great time and use every minute that God gives me delighting in this beautiful autumn. I do my job and let the government and the military do theirs. In fact, I'll be on the plane in just a few hours, and I can't wait. Just think how lucky we are instead of acting like woosies. In my parents lifetime there were no antibiotics at all and many, many children died before they were 5 from infectious disease. Just think how far we have come, and that is why there is such jealousy. Kiss your healthy kids and have a wonderful weekend doing something that is great fun for them.

Going to be extremely warm in the Bay area this weekend. Also thinking of planting perennials and bulbs before the rains start! But, Half Moon Bay sounds good--nice cool mist and pumpkins. Next weekend UCLA vs. Cal at the Rose Bowl--my first time on a plane, since..... Treat yourself well--it helps us all get through the bad times.

Add another for the Great State Fair of Texas--rides, food, Aida Musical, animals, lotto, Women's Museum (affiliated with Smithsonian), African American Museum, IMAX Theater, Natural History Museum, giveaways, carneys, concerts, contests, arts & crafts, computer fun, new cars, etc. It is really a fun place to be.

maybe we'll see you around warwick--Hope there are still some apples left for picking! If you're going to sllepy hoolow are (really 'across and down' rather than 'up' the hudson...) Try picknicing on the grounds at Lyndhurst (there's an admission charge but it's beautiful and empty!)

let's see...
there's the living room to tackle for fall cleaning and on to get my car winterized and then off to my friends' wedding. then it's the kitchen's turn to be torn apart and cleaned and a little bit of yard work if the rain moves east.
and finally just some laid back zombietrancing on sunday evening to regroup for next week's work!!
