What to do in Portland

I'll be in Portland from 6/28 to 7/3, I will have a rental car, but not into driving to the coast (been there, it's GREAT, but not enough time). What's going on during that time frame that I might want to see? Music, plays, events... I've been to the zoo, and the gardens near the zoo, so I'd like something else this time. Thanks in advance for any advice.

There are still some Rose Festival Events happening then, especially the Air Show which is at the Hillsboro airport just a short drive from downtown. There is the Eugene Bach Festival which is international calibre, but that is probably too far to drive. Chamber Music Northwest has several concerts on the Reed College campus in southeast Portland or at the Catlin Gable School which is just west of the zoo. These also are internationally acclaimed performances. I'm sure the Oregonian site or Portland City Search can give you lots of ideas. I assume you have driven up the Columbia River Gorge. Hope you enjoy.

A truly unique theater experience is the Imago Theater which will have performances during the time you are in Portland. web site imagotheatre.com

Check the Willamette Week newspaper (available online at www.willametteweek.com) for a complete listing of things to do in town. The new issue is posted Tuesdays (I think).
