What to do/book in advance Kauai
hi Fodors!
We (our family of 4 plus another family of 4, all children aged 6-10) have a week booked in Kauai during Spring Break next year (24th-31st March) and considering it's cyber monday tomorrow, I was wondering if anyone had any tips for things we need to see and do and that might require advance booking? Have no idea what, just thinking about it - otherwise just all your Kauai tips would be amazing!

To me, the whole point of a vacation in Hawaii is NOT planning/pre-booking. Regardless, I'm not sure there's anything to do on Kauai that would require pre-booking at all.
My favorite things to do on Kauai
Viewing the canyon - free
Hiking - free
Sitting on the beach - free
Surf lessons - not free, but sign up when you're ready to jump on a board
Poking around Hanalei - free
That's about it.

I can't think of anything it would be worthwhile to pre-book.
You may want to take a cruise along the Napili Coast, but there are plenty of boats and you can book just a couple of days in advance.
And we love taking the tours of the Allerton Gardens, but there is no need to pre-book, a day or two in advance is fine.
I agree with sf7307, you want to relax on Kauai and not have your schedule full before you arrive.

I've never pre booked anything including a Na Pali boat tour (going out of the west shore that time of year) and helicopter, but I visit in the fall, not during high season.
I might prebook the boat tour in case they have to cancel due to weather and reschedule, especially with that many people. Otherwise just book your car and hotel or condos.
