Helicopter Trip question Kauai

Going to Kauai mid May to spend part of Honeymoon. Question is - is it a disadvantage to wait until you are on the island to book a Helicopter trip? I ask the question from the point of view of availability in mid May and also possible price hikes if you book close to the day of the intended trip.

Thank you for your time!

In some hotels they have an orientation and at the one we went to they did have a raffle for a free Helicopter tour. I know the odds are probably against winning it but you never know. We didn't win it but we did take a tour and the sights were amazing up there.

If there is a specific company or time you want then I'd just go and book it. However mid May is not the high season and so I don't think you need to worry about finding some kind of trip. If you are looking to save money then you can sign up with an Activity company and agree to go on a timeshare tour for a discount - sometimes 2 for 1. But you'll need to spend a few hours fending off the timeshark sales people. Remember that if you buy from them you *will* get ripped off. Buy a resale instead.

Aloha

WE were in Kauai last year and booked our helicopter ride and waterfall landing with lunch with Inter-island Helicopters several months in advance. Their helicopters only hold 4 passengers and they are the only ones that I know of that fly without doors and do the waterfall landing. WOW it was teh highlight of our trip!

Personally I would not wait.

If you would like to see the pictures of the helicopter ride and read the trip report you can email me at [email protected] and I will get you the link.

Hi I was in Kauai the end of April, beg of May last year. We booked on Inter Island for the waterfall tour a few days in advance after we arrived. I think it's really what you feel comfortable with. We usually book our stuff after we get there (not in high season) to see if we can get a better idea of the weather. good luck and have fun!
Aloha.
