Depends on what you want.
Tower rooms are a little bigger, newer, easier to access.
Pyramid rooms have the slanted windows which is unique. The elevator (inclinator) access can be slow at times so getting to the room can take awhile when it's busy. But being inside the pyramid is the main reason anyone would choose those rooms.
If you go only by the room appearance, tower is better.

I know AW has a lousy on-time record, though they just posted "best" for this year, however, I fly AW whenever possible because I can transfer miles into my British Airways FF program. Also, through Dec 31 AW is offering 3000 bonus miles for any length flight. I'm flying them again to LV in late May.
I've stayed at the Luxor 3 times and while I wouldn't again because it's too far down the strip to make wandering from casino to casino difficult (especially in the heat), I definitely prefer the tower rooms, for all the reasons meantioned above. The bathrooms and tubs are larger, as well.

We stayed at the Luxor a couple of weeks ago - greatly enjoyed our stay. Friends had told us that the pyramid rooms seemed smaller & had just showers, no tubs. We requested the towers - were upgraded to a suite for a small additional amount. It was very roomy, tastefully decorated, had whirlpool tub, king bed, etc. I would ask when checking in if an upgrade were possible - have been told chances are good. Both towers are good, but the West one is closer to the pool area. Also, if you're considering seeing a show, Blue Man Group located at the Luxor is great! Reserve tickets as soon as possible - they're sold out nearly every performance. Also - the Luxor may be at the end of the strip, but taking trams, buses or taxis is easy.
