One night in Red Lodge is good - we did that and enjoyed the walk around town, the trip to their "Dairy Queen," and just a quiet evening. Kalispell is beautiful and Whitefish is even more beautiful, but I agree with oen of the posters, it depends on what you like. I like to hike and take pictures - drive slowly and take pictures - just basically take in the scenery. Fly fishing and white water rafting is also fun as you can go on a "light" water raft tour down the Gallatin River. We did that in Big Sky. Big Sky is also beautiful and we spent two nights there at a hotel with a honkin hot tub. Did a lot of hiking there and some shopping at the ski lodge. We were gone a week and I think of all the places I've been, this trip was the most laid back and enjoyable. There's a lot to see - moose along the highway, bear, deer, elk, etc.
