Let me warn you - this site is full of angry condo owners and travel agents trying to push their seedy properties for ridiculous prices. Any mention of a balanced view seems to draw their clownishly disproportionate wrath. Im glad to see you stirring these morons up.

My usual post name don't know who that earlier poster is. All should understand that 1-4 people in Hawaii depend on tourism to sustain an income in Hawaii. Frequently when jobs are lost people have to move off the island. That means going across the water from family and loved ones, splitting extended families etc.
IF YOU ARE BORED CAROL WHY NOT PICK ON THE LIVELYHOOD OF FAMILIES IN YOUR OWN HOME TOWN!!! There must be some grand parents and grand children you can split up.
Sorry to up this post I am leaving this on the off chance that someone with a brain comes onto the thread.

To all you very angry human beings: If you don't say anything to the people who ask what the best hotels are then why would you bother me? And to X, sorry but I don't do the porno thing I am into Jesus. Perhaps he might help you on your anger problem. I am not an airhead. As a matter of fact I am a member of Mensa. Can you say Mensa X? If I am going to travel all that way I want to be an informed traveler. I don't want to end up in some dump just because someone may want to take advantage of my hard earned dollar by posting a picture on their site that looks like the Taj when in reality it's more like a slum. I guess if it sounds too good to be true it is. I guess there truly are no real deals to be had anywhere. I'll just pay top dollar for my 5 star hotel and hope for the best. Now X go take your medication and calm down.

CArol, there are hundreds of Hotels in Hawaii. How is asking about the worst one going to help you choose the Best?? Even if 30 people respond seriously, you still will have hundreds to eliminate, and will know nothing about them! If you are so smart, you shouw know this. SEARCH this site, or ASK about specific hotels to make your choices!

I am compiling a list of people that post at this site - please feel free to add more:
1)Consumers naively trying to get objective information at this site;
2)Angry Hawaiians whose ancestors traded off their birthright for peanuts;
3) Timeshare/condo hawkers;
4)Travel agents posing as recent visitors;
5)Pompous idiots that appear to be bragging about staying at 5 star resorts;
6)Vindictive clowns that apparently have no meaningful relationships in real life so they insult people on chat boards...

Carol, as a Mensa member (I'm sorry, but I've known some Mensa members who weren't bright enough to get a decent job), I would have thought you would realize the validity of the phrase "If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is", a long time ago.
Did you know that some Mensa members are fairly stupid but are great test takers?

Haole-man you are confusing what happened with the Hawaiians with what happend to some Indian groups. Hawaii was taken and occupied by brut force. Armed American troops landed in Honolulu in 1895 and made there way to the palace. Queen Lilioukilani understanding international law understood that if she fought back she A. could not defeat the military and B. Would not be supported by the international community if she fought and lost. If she submitted than what took place would be considered illegal occupation and she could receive international support and perhaps restore the Sovereignty of Hawaiians. Land was not traded for peanuts it was swindled by forcing Hawaiians to produce western documents, speak English and a whole host of bullying. I just hate it when Americans don't understand their own history!!!
PS don't call yourself Haole and then walk around acting like an idiot. Haole orignially meant foreigner but then came to mean white. So you are kind of leaving your idiot imprint on the rest of us! PS YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE HAWAIIAN TO PICK UP ONE SINGLE HISTORY BOOK.

Haole-san I don't think you have proven anything about your own knowledge to be talking down to History Man.
Did you think it was revisionist history when Time magazine had a cover issue reporting Sadam Husan's statement to George Bush " I Will get out of Kuwait when the United States gets out of Hawaii"
Did you think it was revisionist history when Sadam's statement and concerns from the international community lead President Clinton (99?)to apologizing to the Hawaiian people and opened a dialogue for reparation of seeded (sp) lands?
OR OR OR is it just easier to call all information that you don't know revisionist? I think the later but I put this on here in the hopes to teach you. You don't have to be humble here just consider later and maybe pick up a history book. PBS has a great video that documents this (Hawaiis last queen ) (I think it is called), it is part of the American Experience series.
You can buy it online.
Live and learn.
Not a good idea to be chastising when you have no knowledge base.
