Hi everyone,
I am posting right now from the computer at Gouldings Lodg!! We stayed here again last night and i just had to log in to say STAY HERE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. I guarantee you won't regret it. What an amazing place! Watching the sunset over stunning Monument Valley last night from our private balcony was truly jaw dropping -- and we've been here two other times so it wasn't like we'd never experienced it before. There are new touches since our last visit, including this little business center area next to the fitness center. The rooms have been 'spruced up' with new(er) touches and its just a lovely place to relax and recharge. I even got in an early run this am (ok, maybe more a jog and not a sprint) and even with the elevation (5200) it was absolutely exhilerating!!!!
Also, before arriving we needed a phone (no cell service around) so we stopped in Kayenta at the Holiday Inn (where we also stayed a few years ago). Just an FYI - their pool is closed for the season in case that is important to you. And as previously mentioned, there is absolutely NO VIEW from the hotels in kayenta.
I will post more in a full trip report when we return but bottom line, the extra $20 - $40 to stay in this totally unique, worldwide famous lodge is really "PRICELESS". I just hate to leave.....
