Spon, When are you going? We've always gone over in the winter months Nov/Dec/Jan and the Na Pali is a bit too choppy to go. A few of the couples who have gone out during these months did complain about the large swells/seasickness...And one boat turned back because it was too rough
and no money was refunded!
So, if you do go, make sure you check on the refund policy and go during the calmer summer months.

We did a Liko Cruise in September. We had a ball. It was rough that time of year. May should be good. They have a ;arger boat, catamaran style that handles the chop better. Owned by a native Hawaiian and we felt it made a difference. We are both sailors and appreciated their boat handling skill. Take a look at their web site. http://liko-kauai.com/ Weather permitting they stop for snorkeling and a deli lunch. It was the highlight of our stay. Even better than the helicopter flight.

Hi Dennis,
Did you book directly with Liko? I've seen his website and also found out that Tom Barefoot Cashback tours also give 10% discount on Liko's Na Pali tours. However, Liko does not offer 10% if you book directly with him.Just wondering who you booked with.
Thanks,
Cathy

Spon,
I used Na Pali Eco Adventures back in September. They have a website so you can find more information about them if you're interested. I enjoyed their trip but we were unable to enter any sea caves because of the waves. I actually enjoy choppy water so I can't help you judge the roughness of the water. The crew did tell us though that the water is usually calmer in the mornings that in the afternoons. Good luck!

I did a Zodic Raft Trip a couple of years ago from the North Shore. It was in May and there had been a storm a couple of days before and the water was rough. I got really sick. My husband enjoyed the trip except putting up with me. He enjoyed the snorkeling. The views were amazing and dolphins swam by the raft the entire way back. I would never do it again, but it you don't get sick then it would be a great trip.

Hi-I just got back from Kauai. We did the Napali coast trip from Holo Holo charters. 61 foot Catamaran. We had a great time. Very friendly crew. I took two trips with them. The second was part Napali coast and then we went around the forbidden island of Nihau and snorkeled off a small island off of Nihau. Reef sharks, big turtles, monk seals and lots of fish. They will pick the best dive spot each day.

Hi!
Several years ago we took a Captain Zodiac raft trip and had a blast. It was a highlight. The raft was a bit rough (we were there in July) but not too bad. It was very fast! The crew was terrific and the sights and snorkeling amazing. Our boys were 6 and 10 at the time and they loved it. Have fun!

Aloha Spon! I've taken both Holo Holo
and Capt. Andy's. Holo Holo leaves out of Nawiliwili Harbor on the southeast side of the island. If you go on that one and they go to Ni'ihau (Knee-he-how)
be prepared for a rough ride if the seas
are kicking up. It's 17 miles between the two islands and you're in the open Pacific. When we went there were 27 passengers. Five of them lost there complimentary lunch! I would recommend Capt. Andy's. You stay close to the coast. Less boat ride and more snorkeling. We saw quite a few pods of Spinner dolphins off Polihale Beach (southwest part of Kauai). Capt. Andy's leaves from Port Allen which is a quick
ride along the south shore.Eke

Took a Captian Zodiac raft trip a few years ago in April. It was rough; in fact we almost didn't go out, but it was a lot of fun and once you got a bit out the waves subsided. You could always just wait and see what the ocean is like and then decide. I , unfortunately, got a tail end of a storm, hence the rough seas.
