Anybody old enough to remember Red Mountain Burgandy? IIRC it was $5 a gallon.

Hello, leelane, I'm here. It's the NEW Patrick. But now you've put the pressure on and it's so hard to deliver under those conditions.

I'm also old enough to remember Boone's Farm, Strawberry Hill, and Reunite "on ice".

One of my favorite Mary Tyler Moore episodes was where she was dating this really young guy, and Rhoda said if the wine the guy brings has more than a two word name, she was in trouble. The guy walks in with the wine and says something like "It's Mountain Valley Apple Harvest Raspberry Ripple". GASP.

Wally' what ever were you "on" when you
made the decision to consider traveling with this, uh...(wine) ?

Whatever it was, I urge
you to bring some along and hand it out with the wine !

some bottles are good, some are just awful; it's inconsistent.

I just remembered that my partner's nephew who works at a Trader Joe's says they all call it "Two buck Up-chuck".

In addition to taxes...shipping adds to the cost of chuck in other states.

When I was in Europe, I walked into a wine store and they filled my liter empty water bottle with red wine from the vat. The price, 1 Euro, or about $1.30! I had visions of Lucy stomping the grapes. This wine will go bad in a few months since it doesn't have all of the preservatives needed to store wine for long periods of time.

Ah yes those were the days. Hopefully proving I am not a wine snob... but to the OP if Wally can afford a cruise vacation, he can afford a little nicer wine to take on it! And for Wally that great wine you can get in Italy for 1 euro, well, it ain't Charles Shaw.

Last night, I accidently made a wine slushy with another TJ fav wine. Had 20 ladies over and put a bottle of Sav. Bl. in the freezer.

Forgot about it! Oops. Put it in the frid and will sample later. Should be interesting texture.
