What are your travel plans this summer?

Just curious what the Fodorites are up to this summer. Might give us travel-challenged a few good ideas.

We're spending 2 days in Seattle before taking the Alaska Ferry up the Inside Passage, then a week in the Anchorage area. We were lucky to get a cabin, I was told most people reserve back in December as soon as the ferry starts taking reservations.

Well, only because you asked... mostly trips I'll never recall: to Lexington, KY (on a prop plane, no less); WV for a wedding (finally she's met someone nice); to NC for the annual family beach outting (what can I say); then FL, then FL again (to kick back and brown that tummy some more and watch the drought); then MI, for business, I think). But if it's the fall, then S. Africa, in October. Hope your travels are safe and enjoyable. Ciao

Haven't decided yet (isn't that horrible).

Probably will pop up to DC for a weekend to see the mall before construction begins on the WWII memorial. Might go to WV for a weekend of rafting. Might go to the beach for the day.

Big trip in September and haven't decided where to go yet. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Hey, NCGRRL, ya' better hurry ... I'm sure ya' know ... W. signed that WWII bill the other day, and I can hear the earthmovers coming. I'm not sure he actually knew what he was approving, but he did say something like he was glad they'd be able to trash the Mall like they did the quad at Yale. Something to that effect. For September, what about an asian tour, say to Bangkok. Or to Italy just before they harvest the grapes (Venice would be very nice then). Or to the Tetons in Wyoming ... the trees should be turning. Whatever, have a good one. Ciao.

I know I have to hurry on up to DC. Like to get some 'before' and 'after' photos. I'm not getting into a political battle (register unaffiliated voter here) over the issue.

Trying to go to all the national parks after the thread that start off with "how many states have you been too," that then went to how many national parks have you been to. Um, Bangkok is a little too far. Never been to Italy, have to put that in the possibilities list. Not sure I want to do Italy as a solo traveler but you never know . . .

Thanks for the suggestions and Ciao!

Staying cool for a month in North Carolina! A few weekend trips to Atlanta for the Braves and shopping. Possibly a trip to Upstate NY for my grandmother's memorial service. We'll finish off the summer ( and a lonnnggg three month school break for the 3 kids) with a trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas.
