What are ya'll doing tonite??
Just wondering what cool plans you have?
I have 3 hrs left to work and then I am off to a big bash, but I swear someday I will brave the NYC weather and do Times Square at least once in my life! What are you doing tonite, and where do you really wish you were??

It's a low-key New Year's for me. Dinner in the neighborhood, drinks with friends. I feel like lots of NY'ers are feeling like celebrating, but not in the usual "big" way.
BTW, you couldn't pay me to go to Times Square for this or any other New Year's! It's much better on tv.

I'm home BUT I've always wanted to go a 40's style nightclub with a big band stage and huge dance floor. Do they still exist? Something like Nick and Nora would have done! Or the old Guy Lombardo party except with the young and beautiful instead of the old and half-drunk... There was a scene in Blast From the Past - does that club exist in LA?

Well then x, come on over to my house then! We are having a cocktail party here at 6:30 and then we are going to a friends house at nine. They are finally in the home it took 2 and a half years to complete and plan quite a bash to celebrate. It's on the water so they are having their own fireworks display. Lots and lots of champagne and a big headache manana!

Well, for the first time in many years, I won't be spending new year's eve with my hubby. He's been working part time as a bartender for the past year and he's working tonight (the tips, however, will be great)! Anyhow, I'll be home with my 10 year old and two of his friends. We live in Buffalo, so we have all cabin fever from the recent storm. Will probably take the boys over to Delaware Avenue and watch the Olympic Torch run by. It's in town for the new year and it's going to arrive downtown for our own version of the "ball drop" at midnight. There will be several thousand people, so I don't think I'll take the kids there. I'll watch the ball come down on TV while I sit with Carlo (Carlo Rossi Paisano, that is). Have fun everyone.

I just convinced my hubby that even after an unexpected plumber's bill, we should do a little something special to ring in the new year tonight. So, he's picking up a couple of cold-water lobster tails and some mid-grade bubbly and we're going to flip through all of the New Year's specials on TV tonight. His favorite band of all-time is The Who, so the replay on VH-1 of the New York 911 fundraiser will be on the TV-watching schedule, for sure. Have fun everyone! (P.S., S - what is a "funrun Hare scramble???)

Well had to answer this truthfully a co worker just asked me if front of office what my plans are. I had to say oh I am having French tonight with friends. Actually friends cancelled as they are sick and I am single. So much for friends in need!!! Plan to rent movie and think of strategy for next new years celebration

G-d, I'm feeling lame. We are doing nothing. In fact, I forgot it was New Year's Eve until I saw a clip of the news earlier. The likelihood of either my husband or I staying awake until midnight is very slim. I am pregnant and exhausted, he is working a 12 hour shift today and then has to get up at 4am to go to work in the morning. Anyway, everyone have a safe and very, very Happy New Year.

Tonight I will pour myself a glass of Bordeaux and continue with my reading of THE LORD OF THE RINGS. Happily, I will be alone. In the past, I have been in Edinburgh (Hogmanay), London, Paris (never hanging fromt he Eiffel Tower), and Times Square for New Year's Eve. You know what? It wasn't all that great and I was always cold. The grass isn't always greener.......
Happy New Year, and let's hope it will be better than 2001.

For many years we went to a huge New years Gala but decided to pass on it this year and will go for dinner at a great local Italian Restaurant with friends and then we'll all come back to our place for dessert and champagne and to toast the New Year. We are also going to the Rose Parade (first time in ages) tomorrow so have to get up early and will attend the Rose Bowl game on 1/3. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
