I was wondering if there is a good website out there that can show estimated travel times for trips. For example, a sight that can show you a route from point a to point b and how long it will take, or better yet, show you the best route.

I have used yahoo maps, but sometimes the drive time really isn't as accurate as I would like, and the route isn't always the easiest or best one to use for scenic trips.

Although not well known by most, AAA has on-line trip-tiks. And they are no longer limited to members only. They have spent a lot of time developing it and, although it has some glitches, it is pretty good.

I've found randmcnally.com the most reliable routing and trip planning service around. You have to sign up but it's free. If you just want routing, you can go to the directions section. If you want to plan a trip, with multiple stops, the "plan a trip" section is best. Sometimes they over-estimate times a little bit, but most of the time they seem to be right on. AAA is also good, as a previous poster stated. I was surprised to see that they have trip routings on line for free. Anyway, I highly recommend randmcally.com - after getting bad directions on mapquest and those types of services, I switched to using rand. Very good directions.

thank you so much for the AAA info. I am a member, and never thought of using their site. their triptik is wonderful!! it will only take me a day to drive to las vegas, and only 6 hours to drive to utah.....hmmmmm.....maybe i will do a long drive afterall?
