Whale Watching over Thanksgiving?
My daughter wants to go whale watching during the Thanksgiving holidays . . . does anyone know where are some places to go?
I tried google.com but found mostly technical sites.
I know if anybody can help, you Fodorites can.
Thanks in advance,
Sandy

After laughing myself into a stupor, I suddenly had a thought . . . you are probably a GREAT cook, will you have any left-overs?
This might kill two birds w/one stone, whales in their habitat and we won't be missing out on turkey/dressing!
Where did you say you lived???

Actually, I was feeling a little bad about giving you that flippant response to a serious question. But you gotta see my in-laws in action to truly understand. Me, cook? Don't have to. They have no problem with devouring everything raw (and sometimes still alive).

Sandy - California is the place ya gotta be, so they loaded up the truck and went to Monterey...
I took my family in August on www.montereywhalewatch.com and saw tons of whales... the web site also posts past sightings and it looks like last year was pretty good for Thanksgiving... Blues, Killers, humpbacks and other swimming stuff...
We stayed in Marina, which was about ten minutes from the dock and has great oceanfront accomodations... There's the Marina Dunes Resort and a Super 8 across the street...
The whale watching was one of the highlights of our San Francisco vacation and well worth it. Have fun!
