Westin Ocean Villas vs. the Marriott?

While I am at it, I might as well as this as well. There are some good rates at the Westin Ocean Villas. We usually stay on Ka'anapali Beach however and I love being able to walk down to the Whaler Village, the restaurants along the beach, etc. Is the Westin Ocean Villas that far or that much nicer?

Aren't the Westin Ocean Villas north of Black Rock? We drove through and it was nice, but I personally like to stay between the Hyatt and the Sheraton. Have you looked at Kaanapali Ali'i, which is the best condo development on the main part of Kaanapali beach (huge, nicely decorated condos, but a "simple" pool).

my friend, sf7307 is correct, they are indeed north of Black Rock. We went to spend a few hours at the Westin Ocean Villas when we were staying at Westin hotel. They provided a shuttle between the Westin, the Sheratin and the OV. You could use beach at each place, but you could not use pools [especially not at Westin]. You also had signing privileges, but that wasn't a big plus. It was kind of dead at OV, small pool, nice beach and much more like a regular condo than a resort.

sq7307, We absolutely love the Ka'anapali Alii and stayed there the last time, but there are only four of us and while the rate isn't too far off from the Marriott, there is a resort fee and a clean out fee. If we were going with the entire family, that would be my first choice.

Well then, I'd pick the Marriott, given your choices -- ocean view, no resort fee, great pool, "lite" kitchen, center of Kaanapali Beach. Done.
