We stayed at WWI a couple of years ago. At that time it was a clean, old timey motel type place. The grounds are attractive and the pool is OK. Restaurant is OK but there are better choices. We rented beach chairs and umbrella which was set up every morning about 8:30 and spent our days on the beach.

Slw, thanks so much for your reply. I'm getting very discouraged ... I'm having a hard time knowing what to try on Sanibel. I'll think I have a good one lined up,then get as many negative as positive comments. Only been there once before, and stayed at that little Palm View Motel, about a block back from the Holiday Inn, for three days. It was very nice as far as the furnishings/cleanliness of the efficiency, management, etc. The only problem ..... there was no screened porch or anything so you could sit outside if you wanted, and you had to walk a little ways to the beach. We want to be right o it this time.
I feel I should be able to get something decent for a more moderate price in September ... fingers crossed! Thanks again ...

Slw, I know there are no real bargains on Sanibel, but I feel, with it being hurricane season and with Red Tide hovering (it was there just weeks ago), that I might be able to bargain a bit in September. We've been to Hyannis, Nantucket, Wrightsville Beach, etc. already this summer and I've about blown my vacation fund!
I'm probably going to just try a walk-in at some of these places ... I've heard you can save as much as $50/night at some places. There's bound to be lots to choose from in September ...
