Wentworth By the Sea, NH

We just returned from our trip to Maine, where we decided to stop on the way up, the day before, to maximize our time in Maine. I got a great rate for a place that looked really nice, but my initial purpose was to use it just as a place to spend the night. What a pleasant surprise it was! Everything about it was way beyond expectations. The hotel is located just minutes from Kittery, Maine, and has spectacular water views. In addition, the rooms were beautifully appointed, and had wonderful features such as heated marble floors in the bathroom, and really nice amenities. Our room had three windows, with three different water views, including the bath. The exercise room was state of the art, with individual tv screens on each piece of equipment, and the pool was wonderful. The best part of it was that we had the whole place to ourselves, both times we were in the exercise room, and also, in the pool. The added bonus was the history of the place. I love history, and this place is where the Russo-Japanese peace treaty was signed. Everyone we encountered there was great. It was one of the nicest stays we've ever had. We were so happy with it, I wanted to share this find.

Bennie, I never noticed it before. Guess it's because it's in New Hampshire, and I've only researched Maine locations. The thing is, it's right there, just minutes from southern Maine. Our directions actually said to go into Maine, and then come down Rt. 1 to get to it.

I've stayed there a few times and have posted and I know Seetheworld just had a stay there. Its a great property for so many reasons. I'm glad you enjoyed it. We actually had plans to stay there this weekend but realized that we had a scheduling conflict that made us cancel our plans. We'll head there sometime during Feb. Its very close to home and I like the spa, the kids love the pool and DH likes that his family is happy.

Bennie, I hope you have the same great weather as we did. At least, a nice, sunny day, to enjoy the spectacular views they have there!
