Wedding Planning Puerto Vallarta

Help - any ideas on wedding venues in Puerto Vallarta.

We plan to get married in January. We are planning from 85-100 guests.

We are looking for a venue and had our hearts set on a villa. ALl seem to have min. night stays. We just want the villa for the wedding and reception - not for guests to stay. If it was reasonably priced we could pay for it for 2-3 nights and just not use it.

We have tentative reservations at LeKliff for the ceremony/reception.

We're also looking for a resort that can accomodate our guests with rates around $200 or less.

Any thoughts on a rehearsal?? We were thinking along the lines of las palapas.

Help...we're visiting in 2 weeks, but are worried about a venue. We're not really excited about getting married at a resort.

You can start by re-posting on the Latin America board.

Good Luck!

Paying for a villa and then not staying in it doesn't make any sense...especially when you could easily stay in it yourselves OR offer it to other out of towners who might appreciate a break on paying for their own lodging.

If you go with Le Kliff, you may want to consider providing transportation (shuttles) from the resort where you'll be staying to the restaurant.

I stayed at the Marriott in March and loved it. It's in the Marina District, about 15 mins from "downtown" PV. Checked a random weekend in Jan and their rates are at $219. Bet if you get a block of rooms the rate will be within your proposed budget.

Happy planning!

One other tip - post at the PV forum over on TripAdvisor. Lots of locals and others with more information/experience than you'll probably find here on Fodors.
