Wedding location help
Hi,
My fiance and I and looking for that special place for our wedding. We would like to have a private outdoor ceremony on one of the islands in the Pacific or in countries such as Thailand or Indonesia. The ideal location would be on a sunny hilltop that overlooks the ocean. And of course, there needs be a resort and some facilities for supporting the ceremony at the location. We have a whole year to plan, just don’t know where. Any suggestion will be appreciated very much.
Thanks in advance
Katie

Have you looked at any of the wedding planning sites - theknot.com etc? I think you'll need this to locate a wedding planner who's qualified to help you find a site in a country that allows marriage by foreigners with minimal paperwork/legal or residency requirements.
If you do a search you can find many posts concerning geting married in Italy - which is oneof the places where it's realatively easy for foreigners to get married.
Also - have you posted on the Asia/Pacific boards?

I was talking to a cousin of mine, on the weekend, who had recently attended a wedding ceremony (48 guests) held at a site just above the Wailea Gold golf course, on Maui. They also started the reception there, and finished it, after dark, at "Sea Watch" restaurant... and everyone thought it was fabulous, especially with the great views of Molokini, Kahoolawe, and West Maui, from up there! I can vouch for the dramatic views, having golfed the area several times.... (And not only that, you don't have to worry too much, about rain, in South Maui.) Have fun, planning!

We got married at the Kea Lani( I believe its the Fairmont now) in Wailea, Maui. Excellent location with a area overlooking the ocean. The wedding coordinator did eveything for us and we just showed up. The photographer and videographer they had were tops.

HI..
I got married on the beach on the island of Moorea, Tahiti French Polynesia at the gorgeous Hotel Ia Oro.. www.sofitel.com
They have a chapel on the beach and Maku, a wonderful Tahitian did the ceremony with Tahitians throwing plumerias where I walked and one of them climbed the coconut tree and we drank out of the coconut for purity and to the gods..We were decked out in Plumeria head dress, leis and ankle bracelets of beautiful flowers and they sang island songs and then we canoed to our overwater bungalow and had champagne and appetizers.
We all are still talking about it..
All my friends came and we had one hell of a time.
