Wedding in Kauai
Hi all,
I am getting married in Kauai next year and would love some suggestions on places to have my wedding. I will stay near Poipu beach in some condos however I am having trouble deciding where to actually have the ceremony and the reception. We want to have something with a water view but not right outside a hotel so we feel no privacy. We will have about 50-60 guests.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I'd rent one of the oceanfront houses along Lawai Drive. Many of them are used for receptions. A friend got married on an estate in Haena on the north shore that was oceanfront. If this sounds appealing, try calling some of the rental agents on the island and see what they can come up with.

Aaaah - brings back memories. My husband and I got married on the beach on Oahu with a very small group.
On Kauai, I would recommend the grounds of the Beach House Restaurant, especially since you are staying in Poipu. They set up a gazebo and chairs and rope off an area for the wedding. It is on a lovely lawn right on the ocean.
IMHO, I wouldn't worry too much about no privacy. There will be people anywhere, but in my remembrance, we were so focussed on each other and the ceremony, that we didn't even notice that people had gathered around. When we kissed, everyone cheered and applauded and it was fun, fun, fun!!! And of course there were many more people on Oahu than there will be on Kauai.
And your wedding pictures will be spectacular.
