We are happy it's Raining here!

Unless of course we needed to drive somewhere.

It has been a fairly gentle continuous rain here in Long Beach, and it's still going.

What are you doing? Yesterday I helped decorate the place where I volunteer for their Holiday season.

Today I am preparing for guests with house cleaning and grocery shopping.

And no one is on the roads or in the stores!

Well today we ha a mix of light snow, sleet and rain - but not enough to curtail anyone;s activities.

At the moment am watching the show for the lighting of THE tree at Rock Center. Apparently there are about a half a million people for it. (Can tell many are tourist since they don;t seem to know the words to Feliz Navidad - almost all native new yorkers speak at least a little spanish and hebrew/yiddish).

Finally some rain. I have to laugh at the local news teams calling this
a storm. A nice gentle steady rain. One area is sliding down a mud hill but the rest of us are enjoying it. Well, except my dogs who don't want to get their feet wet.

A friend called from the Bay Area and is complaining about being cold. It went down to 50 degrees last night.

Canadians will be laughing at us about that too.

I'm glad it's raining there too. I hope you get lots more in the coming months.
Lots of good deep snow up in the mountains too, to help out next year.

I am also very glad the rain waited until I was home.

It has been cold, below freezing, the last couple of days here, and the sun seems to have gone on a winter holiday. Editing California photos is keeping me warm.

How is everybody doing? It's been many years since I moved away from the Bay Area. Are there mudslides? The rain is an absolute miracle after all this drought, I know, but also devastating all at once.

Wanting to hear how you all are doing and sending all good thoughts. Let us know how things are and if you are ok.

It isn't here yet...tomorrow! I have emptied all the buckets from last time. No lawn sprinklers for a month, at least.

I hope it's over by evening. The place where I volunteer has a big event tomorrow night.

We have battened down the hatches and taken down anything that might get blown around in the winds. It is still calm in the foothills east of Sacramento. It is supposed to hit tomorrow about 10A-11A. We shall see...

It's snowing in the Sierra!

I need to go outside and collect everything loose.

Good times.

Hope everyone up north is safe.

Was very windy overnight, but not as bad as predicted. It has been raining steadily since early this morning. Weather forecasters stated the worst rain will be about 1PM today.
