WDW-1st trip with kids

Our sons are 2&5, this will be their first trip to WDW. We are going the first week of June(7 days, but only plan to spend 2or3 in WDW). What should we be sure to hit and what would be better later, when they're older? We will definitely go to MK but I'm not sure about the rest of WDW or other Orlando attractions. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Animal Kingdom and maybe a water theme park like Blizzard Beach in addition to MK. Seaworld is also wonderful. Universal Studios might be better when the kids are a little older. We took our daugther (2) to MGM and other than Bear in the Big Blue House and Little Mermaid not alot of other stuff for her age. AK has lots of animals and a huge playground in the dinosaur section.

With such young kids, you'll be moving quite slowly. I'd suggest 1 or 2 days at MK, and one day at Blizzard Beach. I'd suggest that Blizzard Beach is much better than Typhoon Lagoon for small kids because the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon is pretty rough. And, of course, get to the parks at rope drop to beat the heat and lines.

Have fun!

One important tip. Keep telling yourself you are there to have fun. There is no prize given at the airport for who rode the most rides or went to the most parks and stayed the longest. It is impossible to see/do everything. If the kids get tired, go back to the hotel - take a nap, swim in the pool, etc. It is distressing to see families dragging kids thru the park in the late afternoon, everyone is tired and whining, and you know they have been there since it opened. My son surprisingly loved Epcot at that age (who would guess that?) - but in retrospect, WDW was just too much for him - he to this day does not like crowds and noise (age 14). Have a great time - just keep a reasonable and not frantic pace and everyone will have fun.

Tammy, do yourself a favor and pick up my favorite, The Unofficial Guide to WDW ____. The ____ should be filled in with the current year or it won't be up to date. What's so great about the book is that it takes each attraction and dissects it and rates its appeal and appropriateness (is that a word) for several age groups. It takes into consideration the scariness level, volume, likelihood to induce motion sickness, and overall appeal. From there you can decide which attractions, or even whole parks, you'd rather save for later.

I hope you all have a great time!
