In early June I wouldn't worry about the line up to get into the park, especially those weekdays.

If this is your first trip to Yosemite, then definitely Yosemite View lodge, refundable reservation, and keep checking daily for cancellations at Yosemite lodge (in the valley)

Wawona is a nice area, but it's not for the first trip. It's away from most of the places you want to visit.

Wherever you stay, don't miss the Glacier Point.
