Waterfront Dining in SanDiego

Last year DH and I were on our way back to Carlsbad from San Diego on the Beach road. We came around a bluff on a curve and there were surfers there. Just past that area we saw a restaurant right on the water with an absolutely non-existant parking lot, manned by valet parkers. It appeared to be packed but we were assured that there was seating available. As soon as we entered we were directed upstairs(I don't know if there was any seating on the first floor.Never saw in). We got a seat by the window for cocktails but said we would wait for a table outside to eat dinner, which we got in about 10 minutes. There appeared to be a number of people around the bar just waiting for sunset.
The food was good but we cannot remember the name of the restaurant and would like to return there this month. Now, who can tell me the name?????

I haven't been to the San Diego area in a few years, but your description reminds me of George's at the Cove, but its in La Jolla.

Sounds like somewhere in Cardiff on PCH..there is the Beach House with an upstairs..next door is Chart House, one level and oceanfornt along with Charlies..they all have the valet parking attendants..surfers go to Swami's but you can see them from the restaurant.
Jake's Del Mar is all one level and oceanfront and no upstairs with valet.

I think it was the Beach House. Thought Jakes sounded familiar but we definitely went upstairs. Thit_cho: Have been to George's, which is great. This was not in La Jolla.Definitely, not the same class either, just a casual fun place.

It's a short drive to La Jolla from San Diego. Several restaurants are waterfront. George's which is mentioned. The Crab Catcher is another option. Both are good picks.

La Jolla is in San Diego, so it's a really short drive! LOL!

I thought the Beach House too.
