Washington, DC Seafood Restaurants

Considering going to Legal Seafoods in DC, but wondering if anyone has any other suggestions. Are the places on Water Street (think that's the name) mostly for the large tour groups with food to match. We'll be staying at River Inn in Foggy Bottom so perhaps there's something near that.

Yes, the places on Maine Avenue (if that is what you mean--in SW)are for large tour groups.

Kinkead's is right around the corner from your hotel. Also nearby, and not previously mentioned on the other thread, is Sea Catch in Georgetown.

We just ate at Phillips Flagship. This is an all you can eat buffet. It was very good. Lots of selections.

Mrs. MileKing and I used to enjoy Legal Seafoods quite a bit, but the quality and service have fallen off significantly over the past few years to the point that we simply won't go there.

Kinkead's is very good, but I would pass on Phillips....very overrated in my view. The Market Inn is another option (and a personal favorite).

Oceanaire is the the "Morton's" of seafood. Lots of good stuff, but not cheap.

My favorite place is DC Coast, which is simply amazing. But, it's not just seafood by any means.

My favorite place for seafood in DC is the Sea Catch in Georgetown. You can dine outside on the C & O canal. It's awesome!
