Wash DC- what is that giant TV screen?

I was at the newly opened base of the Washington Monument last night admiring the view and there is a huge video screen, it looks like it is looming a few blocks behind the White House. I have never noticed it before, anybody know what it is?

DC is delightfully uncrowded this week, BTW.

I haven't been down there recently, but if I had to make a guess I would say it's the screen for Screen on the Green. There is a period of about 6 weeks when, on Monday nights, a free movie is projected on a giant screen on the mall. Makes for a fun picnic evening when the weather permits!

Bean- I dont think it is a movie screen. It sits high on top of an office building, it looks like it in downtown, maybe up Connecticut Av? There is an American flag waving on it at night. The reason I ask is that it is very prominent and I have never seen it before. Several people asked me the other night if I knew what it was, we were all dumbfounded.

It sounds lke the AFL-Cio headquarters building on the north edge of Lafayette Square but I've never noticed the screen. I'm out of town right now.
