I don't think there's any danger of that OldSouthernBelle. The concern is about hikers actually near the flow either falling in when the bench collapses or being scalded by the heated water that washes back over the remaining land.

HKP, what's happening near Iwo Jima?I looked on the USGS site and didn't find anything.
