A couple of suggestions. I would check the Charleston web site. They would have information on weather and events.
Also, I would repost under a better headline mentioning where you are visiting. You might not get many people looking at your question under "visit in April."

There's always something going on in Charleston. If you've never been there before, just walking around is entertainment enough sometimes. Check www.charlestoncitypaper.com when you get closer to the end of the month and you'll see a calendar.
