Villa Toscana recommendation

Just a quick post to highly recommend the Villa Toscana in Paso Robles. We spent five nights there last week and it was excellent in every way. It was every bit as good as it looked on line. Included in the stay is excellent breakfast and wine and hors d'oeuvres in the evening. The hors d'oervres were so good and so extensive that we only went out to dinner one night.

thank you. It looks so nice on the website, but it's gotten some baaad tripadvisor reviews, so wasn't sure.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

HI--I remember that some gave you some "grief" for spending 5 nights there. (I was not one of them), but if you don't mind my asking, how did you end up allocating your days. Thanks for sharing your experience!!

We actually had 4 days in the area. We spent three days wine tasting and didn't even touch half of the wineries. We love doing that and there were some fabulous wines. We spent a small fortune shipping wine back home. It is a much more relaxed area that Napa and not so jaded. We also went to Hearst Castle then drove down the coast a bit to check out the scenery and towns. Certainly if one is not into wine tasting 5 nights would have been too much but it was a beautiful area and we enjoyed every minute. We finished our trip in Santa Monica for two nights which was really fun. The only bad part of the trip was the drive from Paso Robles to Santa Monica. That traffic was almost unbearable.

HI--thanks for your quick response. So glad you had so much fun!! I know how easy it is to send wine home. Everything you taste there is so great and you know that you will never find the same ones in your local shops.

You are right. That drive is brutal!! We broke it up w/a 2 night stay in Santa Barbara and even w/that I thought we would be in the car forever!! I am not a good traveler--kind of ironic, since I am so addicted to this board. I just hate the process but love the experience, if that makes any sense!!
