Anyone visited the Firestone Vineyards north of Santa Barbara?
Is it worth visiting? Are there other vineyards in Santa Barbara County that are worth seeing/walking the grounds?
Also, has anyone driven the scenic San Marco Pass drive...is it "white knuckle" driving?

My boyfriend and I went there last Dec. Not only is the vineyard beautiful, but inside its filled with a lot of history as well. They also have a smaller sister vineyard down the road. If you want to try the wine, you can buy a glass for (I think) $7.50. Their Sauvignon Blanc is one of my favorites.
We also liked the smaller Kohler Vineyard. They allow you to picnic on their grounds.

Yes, but we were there in June at it was PACKED with young women in high heels and lots of clevage. Apparently hoping to run into a bachelor heir...
The Firestone wine tasting cost also gets you into their neighboring vineyard. I didn't think much of the grounds, although we decided not to do the tour because it was so crowded. Zaca Mesa is also right down the road, which we really enjoyed. There are tons of vineyards in that area -- when you get there, go to a hotel and ask for a map of the area with the wineries. I believe Bridlewood and Brander are also there (we LOVED those). And aside from Firestone, all were basically empty.
Try doing a search of Santa Ynez Valley and/or winery. I found a lot of recommendations on this site.

Yes, Firestone is worth seeing..great wine and view. Also, nearby is the Fess Parker Winery - beautiful grounds. The area has many great wineries. I have been over the San Marco Pass many times - take it slow and you will be fine.
