orchid, honey, your mama should have taught you to be more polite. Thank you and please work so well, you will be surprised. That anyone even answered your question was enough to be thankful for.
Seeing that you have only posted on Fodors about Hawaii, you might have not learned your way around the site that well, which is perfectly fine and normal. But when you get information or advice from fellow Fodorites, you really should be a tiny bit more gracious.
You will now , I am afraid, have to go find your own whales without our help.
My mama told me a looong time ago, a Smile and a Thank you will go a long way...or You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar

OK, I'll try this one more time, sigh.
"Fantastic Keith! You really should pay attention to the location that was requested. New England was not in my question at all.It was HAWAII."
Now I think that sounds snippy and sarcastic (also incorrect), and apparently many others here agree. Maybe you didn't mean it to be. If so, why don't you simply say that? Or are you perhaps one of those people who simply cannot, under any circumstances, admit an error? I'm pretty bad about that myself (my motto is "Not always right, but never in doubt") but even I will fess up when the mistake is this glaring.

Wow, you put the kid in orchid.
You've long forgotten, but you were told, early in life, by somebody you respect very well :
"Courtesy may not always be returned in kind, but discourtesy will".
This explains your perception of attitude on this thread.

Wow! I just got home and logged on to find this thread. Orchid, while many posters will poke fun at a vague question, Keith was very polite & sincere in his response to you. That is why people are asking you to apologize to him. There is no mention of "Hawaii" in your original question, so it's hard to tell where you are considering seeing whales. Whales are seen in many parts of the world, not just Hawaii.

I'll just make this very short comment....
