Very Short Term Sublet...Anyone ever use NY Habitat?
A bit late since I have already booked an apartment through this website for next month: http://www.nyhabitat.com
It seems like a great deal...a furnished apartment in midtown west. Dealing with NY Habitat has been very professional and the pictures of the place are fantastic. For a price of $1100 for 4 nights, sleeps 6, I got a case of the "too good to be true blues." Has anyone delt with this company before? Reviews? I am crossing my fingers. Didn't find anything in any of the posts. Thanks!

Pamg, you're referring to the sublet service, aren't you (rather than the hotel?)
I've never used them, but a few of my daughters friends used them while attending a summer dance workshop a couple of years ago. They rented a 2 brm and split the cost, saving a great deal on expenses. The apt. was a small walk-up and was nothing fancy -- but in a good area, and they felt they got good "Manhattan experience."

I'm renting an apartment through them for the first week of June. I paid a deposit up front to Habitat and am to pay the balance to the owner upon arrival. I'm just a little nervous as I've emailed the owner twice with a couple questions, mainly about phone and asking in advance for the phone number to give for emergencies as well as asking about time we will need to vacate on our last day as we have a late afternoon flight out. But I've received no email replies. Makes me a little nervous, since the owner is the one who must meet me with keys, etc.
I realize it's still early -- and hoping he's traveling or something.

I have just been through the same routine for our trip in June and have paid the deposit to Habitat. I just got the owner's email address yesterday and zipped off an email right away. Keep me posted, Patrick, if you could. I hope it turns out to be all we expect
