Vermont in the Fall or Oregon Coast

Hi-

I would like to take my girl away for her birthday and can't decide between the Oregon Coast or Vermont in the Fall. I would be for 5 days max. My dilemma is that if we opt for Vermont region we won't have much more then 3 days there. Is the cross country trip for 3 days worth it or should I take the short plane ride up to Oregon and have more time there?

Thats a tough one! As much as I love it here in OR, Vermont in the fall is absolutely amazing and more beautiful than you can imagine. What does she want to do?

Are you saying that you would have to drive 3 days or more to get back/forth to VT? If that's true, as much as I love VT, the OR coast is gorgeous if that's nearer to you. Hitting peak colors in VT any yr is iffy and it could be pouring rain, although I guess that could be true of OR too. IMO, if this is a b'day celebration, go for the easiest and least hassles and have more time to enjoy each other.

Just check lodging availability in Vermont for when you want to be there. Fall in VT is VERY busy and many places get booked up months in advance.
Wow...what a dilemna. Both places would be great!
