jilkovina, don't let us scare you away. Hiking to the river and back in the Grand Canyon is almost as easy as a walk in the park. Tevas works great. Be sure to put a couple of six-packs of Coca-Cola in your backpack. Stop at all the air-conditioned rest stops along the way. Take a credit card for handy shopping in the gift shops on the way up and down. If you get tired, or a blister or just don't feel like walking anymore the rangers will give up a ride back up to the rim in their specially designed golf carts. If you decide to spend the night at the last minute, you can rent a chaise with cushion for the night - just like the beach rentals at the French Riveria. Don't rent the cabana - you'll want to be able to see the stars. There's been talk of a foot massage service at the river - but take your own aromotherapy scents - just in case they insist of using that nasty juniper scent. They like it, but I think it's just foul. I was really irked the last time I ordered steak. I ordered medium, but they brought me one that was well done. It just about ruined the whole trip.

Oh, and one last word of advice. Budget at least $2500 per person for evacuation - 'cause you'll have to pay if you have to be taken back up to the rim.

Enjoy your nice, relaxing stroll in the canyon. Watch out for the mule poop and puddles though.

What do those thousands of "network guys" you see on their TV commercials do when you hike down the GC? They take their day off?

jilkovina: On your other threads you are still sounding "normal-ish" and not very Troll-like.

If your questions are sincere - then you have to give up this insane idea of going to the bottom of the GC w/o a permit.

I believe English is not your native language and you may not understand how serious the rules are for the Grand Canyon.

Everyone has tried to help you but when you ask how to commit a crime like not getting a permit, or ask silly questions about "hunting" - it is natural that we think you are having fun/being a troll.

If you cannot get a permit - you cannot hike down. Simple as that.
