Venetian or Bellagio

We are first time visitors for 2-3 days in August before travelling on to Grand Canyon and Bryce. What is the best way to achieve top discounted rates for the best King bedded rooms in the best section at either of these hotels ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Steve, this subject has been revisited, ad nauseum, beat to death etc.

If you do a search you will find that most prefer the Bellagio over the Venetian but the Venetian has larger and nicer standard rooms.

generally, the hotel websites have the best rates you'll find. Sign up on their websites, and the hotels will send specials to you once in awhile...keep visiting the website. rates are always much higher Fri & Sat. then weekdays...

Definitely Bellagio over Venetian although Venetian have bigger rooms they are still not as nice as Bellagio rooms and you can not get any decent service at Venetian. Do not eat at Venetian as most of their restaurants are sub-standard, twice I was served spoiled food in the Italian restaurants by the courtyard (Canal)

Thanks for your comments - I was really looking at the best way to buy the rooms but appreciate your comparisons in any case. there are so many pop-up options nowadays and most appear to be rip-offs.

Sign up for the email specials on the individual hotel websites and you will get room deals but it can be hit or miss as to whether or not they line up with your travel.

FYI, I disagree with the comment about the food at the V. Maybe the ghetto Italian place is no good but there are some excellent fine dining places and even their "coffeeshop" is excellent (Grand Luxe)

Thank you Loki and Dita. I am leaning toward Bellagio because I think we need to see "O" and its a shorter walk home! I would like to go for a top room in a top location in the Hotel but not the presedential Suite. After checking with a few Reservation sites it amazes me how the prices vary so much. I think I will focus on making a reservation directly. Does anyone have a favorite room or location at Bellagio?

I would want to look out over the "lake", but that fountains and music show they do in the lake is my favorite attraction in all of Las Vegas.

I've never been inside any of their rooms, so I have no other opinion.

I did see "O", but only the pre-opening version (on complementary tickets, since my brother works there). I didn't like it at all and neither did my sister-in-law. I guess it depends what you like...for comparison, I loved David Copperfield and really enjoyed "Splash."

While you're in Bellagio, stop by the Baccarat pit and say "hi" to Doc (my brother) for me!

The best value (balance of room size and quality) is often the Salone Suite, depending on specific rates. If your budget is generous, get a Penthouse Suite overlooking the fountains. Simply wonderful room.

I am interested in any comments about "O". Would somebody be able to describe it in a few sentenances? I know it has been running forever so I thought it was the one to see. If there are better shows at the moment or in three months when we are there I would be very interested to learn about them. Thanks for your help.
