Vancouver after Alaska

My husband and I are taking a cruise from Vancouver to Alaska this summer and are curious as to whether it is worth spending a few days in Vancouver after the cruise. I would post on the Canada board, but really want to hear opinions of Americans as to whether Vancouver is worth a visit. Thanks for all of your help

I live in Seattle and visit Vancouver often...I love it! Great restaurants, one of the best urban parks anywhere, and an ambience that feels a bit more cosmopolitan and sophisticated than Seattle.

So, yes, I would say it's worth spending a couple of days there.

Vancouver is very green and pretty, but there is not much to do there. Nothing to do in the evenings.

By all means take some extra days in Vancouver. There's plenty to do (disagree with Carrie) day and night. Beautiful setting, great restaurants, walks, shopping, street life. Look at some of the suggestions on the Canada board, many of which are posted by or for US visitors.

Take one of those days and go (via ferry) to Victoria -- see the Gardens, have tea at the Hotel, walk about.

Were in Vancouver several years ago & had a grand time. Did the on&off trolley -- lovely Chinese garden.

With the current exchange rate how can you lose out by staying an extra day or two?
