Sandy - the link to my albums won't work on here. I have one album for Rehoboth and one for Virginia Beach. If you want to see these, email me at [email protected] so that I can email them to you

VA Beach is nice, but I am partial to Rehoboth. It is a quaint, old seaside town that has really kept it's charm with the tourists taking over. Nothing closes down in Sept. As for the jellyfish/sea nettles problem, I spend about 6 weeks of the summer and most fall weekends in Bethany/Rehoboth for the past 7 years and have only seen the jellyfish bad last year after the horrible heat spell. They were gone in a few days. Although there aren't many hotels, you have many house options with Bethany and Rehoboth. I'd look on VRBO.com, homeaway.com if you choose DE. I like that it doesn't have all the big hotels. That's what makes it charming. The restaurants are AMAZING and there are many boutique shops as well as the trinket shops and an arcade. If you stay in the main part of town, you won't even need to get in your car. The beach itself is nicer in VA beach than the main area of Rehoboth, but I don't know if it's worth the extra drive? You could go to the state park beach for a day to get the deep beach. You'll love wherever you go.

Actually, the actual Neptune Festival weekend is at the end of September every year. This year it's the 28th through the 30th. While it is a lot of fun, this is one of the most packed weekends we have. Even some of the locals from the surrounding cities like Chesapeake and Norfolk come and stay at the ocean front in the hotels.

BTW Sandy, I don't know if it will be a big deal since I think you said your little ones were two years old? The kiddie ride arcade will close the Sunday, one week after labor day. So will some of the shops, but not all.

Sandy - A really smart Fodorite taught me a secret about sharing my photos without you having to email me.

Here are the links.

LOL - Sorry, one last thing. You'll notice that the title of my albums are backwards (Virginia Beach labeled as Rehoboth and vice versa). The location title of each individual photo is correct.

The Rehoboth photos are ones that I took as well as the photos of the Sand Sculpting Contest in Virginia Beach. The Virginia Beach shots are candids that were taken by travelers who have posted their shots online. I don't have my Va Beach photos on my computer yet and these were actually better than mine.

Definitely Rehoboth Beach. The variety of small beach towns in Coastal Sussex makes for a great vacation. Check out CoastalSussex.com for daily info as to what's going on, and be sure to come back in the fall for all the festivals.
