Utah in October?

Hi,
I have a ten day vacation around mid-October and I would like to visit Utah (Bryce Canyon, Zion, Moab)...I would like to know how the weather is. I love hiking and biking and canoeing. Does it get too cold?
THanks!

Most of the time October weather is fine for all of those activities and all of those areas. Bryce Canyon of course being the coolest of the areas. I do remember it snowing in October, though that is rare. Fall is usually a great time of year - it does get cool at night though.

All things being equal, October is one of the best times of the year to visit Utah. Barbara is correct in that in the higher elevations the weather can get cool at night..on the other hand it can also be surprisingly warm and almost hot at this time of year.

October should be just great for places like Arches and Capitol Reef which can be very, very hot in July and August.
Bryce, because it is higher, would be cooler at night than the others.]
Zion might still be quite warm in early October.

I was in Park City in the first week of Sept. The locals told me it starts snowing there the last of Sept.
But the hiking is great. I highly reccomend you see the Great Salt Lake. Its nothing like I have ever seen. The beach is mysterious in a way.
The food is wonderful in Park City, but pricey.
